Regional Development Council
The Regional Development Council (RDC) comprises the Australian Commonwealth, State/Territory and New Zealand Ministers responsible for regional development, and a representative from the Australian Local Government Association.
The Commonwealth Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government chairs the RDC.
Standing Committee on Regional Development
The Standing Committee on Regional Development (SCORD) acts as a permanent standing committee, reviewing and recommending agenda items for consideration by RDC.
SCORD comprises the chief executive officer or equivalent from the government agency responsible for regional development in each Australian state and territory and in New Zealand, and the CEO of the Australian Local Government Association.
Management Working Group
The Management Working Group (MWG) is the key body assisting cross-jurisdictional Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to drive processes within SCORD and RDC. The MWG incorporates all the functions of the previously established SCORD Working Groups.
The role of the MWG is to progress SCORD and RDC action items to conclusion and, as required, provide coordination on significant policy issues. The MWG is also the appropriate forum to scope new topics for RDC and CEO consideration.
Working Groups
From time to time, informal workings groups may be formed to work on specific issues identified by the RDC. There are no current working groups.
